For the first time in 15 years, West Ham has been relegated from the Premier League.

The Hammers beat Leeds 3-0 on the final day of the season on Sunday, May 24, which wasn't enough to secure its survival due to Tottenham's 1-0 win over Everton.

West Ham entered the final day two points behind Tottenham, needing to win and for Spurs to lose to avoid the drop.

With the results, West Ham finished in 18th place on 39 points, with Spurs in 17th place on 41 points.

Despite the win on the final day of the season, it was a poor end to the campaign for West Ham, which entered Sunday's match having lost three matches in a row.

The Hammers were last relegated in the 2010-11 campaign, when they finished in last place. But they bounced straight back up the following season and had been a Premier League club since the 2012-13 campaign.

Graham Potter began this season as West Ham manager, but was replaced by Nuno Espírito Santo in late September. Though the Hammers improved under Nuno, it wasn't able to avoid the drop to the Championship next season.

Meanwhile, Tottenham avoided an unthinkable relegation after playing in England's first division since the 1978-79 campaign.

It was an awful campaign for Spurs, but they just about managed to maintain their Premier League status thanks to a 3W-1D-1L finish to the season under manager Roberto De Zerbi.
