The Drew Barrymore Show

Valerie Bertinelli isn’t grossed out by a little dog slobber.

The *One Day at a Time *actress accidentally ate a piece of food that had been licked by Drew Barrymore’s dog Douglas during a food segment on Thursday’s episode of *The Drew Barrymore Show* — and, honestly, she wasn’t that bothered by it.

Bertinelli was sharing how party hosts can create individual cheese plates for their guests when she pulled out a small dish filled with an array of cheeses, olives, and meats.

“You know what, I want you to eat mine. Wait, wait, wait! Oh!” costar Ross Mathews said just as Bertinelli popped an olive from the plate into her mouth. “Okay, well, Drew’s dog Dougie was licking your cheese plate back there before you pulled it out.”

The crowd immediately let out a mix of laughter and groans as Mathews tried to swap his plate for the one in front of Bertinelli. However, she turned down the idea and kept her own plate.

But Bertinelli wasn’t fazed. “It’s okay,” she said.

“You don’t care? Okay,” he asked. Bertinelli quickly shook her head, replying, “I don’t care.”

Mathews added, “I was trying to jump in front of the olives!”

Swiftly moving on from the incident, Barrymore shared that she thinks more party foods should be delivered in a personalized fashion rather than in large amounts.

“Another thing I think could meet this is the guacamole,” the host said. “Don’t do the large guacamole bowl. It’s foul. It’s disgusting. It browns. It’s double-dipped and I’m so mad at it. Just do little bowls!”

“Individual guac bowls!” Bertinelli said. “I love that!”

Mathews was also fully on board with a little cheese board. “If I walked into a party and there was a little cheese plate here?” he said. “Happy Ross, okay? This is so good!”

And, in Douglas’ defense, Bertinelli explained that the cheese boards they were snacking on were particularly tasty. “Don’t you love these crackers?” she asked her fellow Drew's News desk companions. “They’re like pretzels with just enough salt on ‘em. Crunchy, it’s the best part of a pretzel!”

Bertinelli may have been a little less grossed out by Douglas’ sneaky snacking because she has several pets of her own, including dog Luna and cats Batman, Tigger, Sir Henry, Bubba, and Beau.

Last month, she posted a video of herself signing copies of her upcoming memoir *Getting Naked: The Quiet Work of Becoming Perfectly Imperfect *with Batman sitting next to her and surveying her work.

“Batman has been very helpful as I’ve been signing away for my new book, *Getting Naked*,” Bertinelli wrote in the post’s caption.

*The Drew Barrymore Show* airs weekdays on CBS.
