ATLANTA — Christian Pulisic had several chances to end his scoring drought on Saturday, March 28. On a different night, the U.S. men's national team star could have had a brace, or even a hat trick.
Instead, the dry spell continued.
Pulisic and the USMNT fell 5-2 to Belgium at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, a rude awakening after the team ended 2025 on a run of four wins and a draw.
It was a frustrating night for the team as a whole but especially for Pulisic, who hasn't scored with AC Milan in 2026 and hasn't found the net with the USMNT since 2024.
"For me it's disappointing," Pulisic said after the game. "I feel I can do better on one of the chances."

The chance Pulisic was referencing came early in the second half. After doing well to carve out some space for himself in the box, Pulisic launched a left-footed shot well over the goal.
One minute later, Belgium went to the other end of the pitch and scored to take a 2-1 lead. It was a turning point in the game, and Pulisic knew it.

"I missed that, and then they go and they score, and it changes the game," he said. "It's frustrating for me for sure."
Pulisic has continued to start and play a key role for AC Milan amid his scoring drought. He will no doubt continue to do the same for a USMNT side that relies on him. Though the 27-year-old is aiming to stay positive, he also knows his ability to rack up goal contributions is vital to the success of both of his teams.
"It's been a tough patch, but I feel confident in the way I'm playing," he said. "I feel good and I'm creating chances. So I just have to stay positive and keep going.
"But yeah, I have to be more clinical in those moments."
Pulisic was flying high after scoring 10 goals with Milan in the first half of the season. He's hoping to catch a bit of luck to start a new scoring run that will take him through the end of the club campaign and into the World Cup.
"I know a ball will hit off my knee and go in, and then things will change," he said. "So I'm not going to panic – better now than the summer. Things are going to change."
