The Apple TV dramedy *Ted Lasso* will return for its fourth season this summer, the streamer announced Wednesday.

"In season four, Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women's football team," the news release teased. "Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would."

With a cast that includes Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Jeremy Swift, and Brendan Hunt, the charming, feel-good series originally followed an optimistic American football coach managing a British soccer league despite his lack of experience.

The show has won a lot of love from awards shows including the Emmys, where it took home the trophy for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2021 and 2022. (In all, it's won 13 times at the ceremony.)

It's currently in production on the season that fans were unsure would ever actually happen. After all, Sudeikis, who's also an executive producer on the series, explained in a May 2023 appearance on the *Fly on the Wall* podcast hosted by fellow *SNL* alums Dana Carvey and David Spade, that *Ted Lasso* was "done."

**"It sounds like such a political answer, but it's the truth," the *Horrible Bosses* star said. "We only conceived these three [seasons], then this thing became this big old thing."

However, he had considered the possibility of spin-offs, such as a book or podcast.**

The show debuted in August 2020, and a second season followed a year later. The third season didn't arrive until March 2023, and it featured the kind of flash-forwards that fans might expect from a series finale.

Apple TV officially confirmed the return of the series in March. It was also announced that *Ted Lasso*'s new adventures would feature additional actors: Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsey, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern, and Grant Feely.**
