The "One Promise Too Late" singer posted a video of her fiancé, Rex Linn, giving her a playful scare during a photo shoot to celebrate her sixth anniversary with the *CSI: Miami* star.

The video shows McEntire posing for photos in front of a white wall as her fiancé stands in a doorway to her left, just outside of her line of sight. Linn then enters the room, creeping around the corner and pounding the wall with his hand as he bellows a guttural groan that causes the singer to yelp and wave her arms.

"You scared *her*!" McEntire shrieks between laughs, gesturing to the photographer.

"6 years together and he's still scaring me every chance he gets!" McEntire wrote in her caption. "You know what they say about payback… 😉"

McEntire and Linn first met in 1991 while they filmed the Kenny Rogers TV movie *The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw*. They reconnected in 2020 because they both appeared on *Young Sheldon*, and revealed that they were dating in October of that year.

Linn joined McEntire as Buck Barnes — the husband of the singer's character Sunny Barnes — on season 3 of the ABC drama *Big Sky*. They costarred on all 13 episodes of the show's final season.

The couple have costarred on McEntire's NBC sitcom *Happy's Place* since October 2024. They announced their engagement in September.

Linn has a history of pranking his fiancé, including multiple Halloween-related gags.

"Last year, he ordered from Costco a 7-foot werewolf with a motion sensor in it, and he put it in my bathroom," the singer told CountryNow in 2021. "And when I walked in there, it moved and growled at me."

McEntire told the outlet that she was initially "upset" by the prank. "I said, 'Everybody who had anything to do with it, you're all fired,'" she joked.

However, she quickly grew to appreciate the effort that Linn undertook to get a reaction out of her. "I started giggling," she remembered. "And then I was pretty flattered that he went to all that trouble to scare me. And then we took it to every place we could to scare everybody else. We had a blast with it."

Linn also surprised McEntire on a special Halloween episode of *The Kelly Clarkson Show* in 2024 while dressed as a supporting ghoul from *Beetlejuice Beetlejuice*. "Give me a kiss!" he insisted as he was covered in blue paint.

"I just love to scare people to see how they react," Linn explained on the show. "But this woman right here, there's something wrong with her because there have been times where I have laid in wait for her."

The actor went on to explain that he waited for half an hour to startle her at home by grabbing her ankle as she cleaned up the kitchen one night. "I was on the ground in the dark waiting," he said. "Then she turns out the lights and walks by me, and I grabbed her ankle and screamed as loud as I could, and she just looked down and goes, 'What are you doing down there?' After 30 minutes! And I was very angry."**
