Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, would likely not have appreciated his reportedly misogynistic remark about Abbey Clancy, the wife of former England footballer Peter Crouch. The Duke of Sussex reportedly made a coarse remark to Crouch about his wife in what was allegedly harmless banter. However, according to royal sources, the Duchess of Sussex wouldn’t have approved of this kind of discriminatory commentary from her husband.

Prince Harry’s reportedly 11-year-old crude remark about Peter Crouch’s wife, Abbey Clancy, would likely not have gone down well with Meghan Markle. As per RadarOnline, royal commentators have slammed the Duke of Sussex for his unnecessarily distasteful comment about Peter Crouch’s wife in the past.
Not only that, but this has generated claims that Harry’s former actress wife would be uncomfortable with the kind of language he used.
The incident harks back to 2015, when Harry was still a working royal and attended a UNICEF charity soccer match at Old Trafford. Former footballer David Beckham reportedly organized the event. After the game, the young prince met players in their dressing room and exchanged crude comments with Crouch.

Interestingly, Crouch discussed the encounter on Stick to Football. Crouch revealed that Harry approached him and, straight off the bat, asked him, “Yeah, Crouchy, how did you bag Abby?”
The 45-year-old footballer was shocked by Harry’s frank behavior and later thought of the ideal response he wished he had given him. Crouch said, “I wish I had said to him, ‘You can talk. I wasn’t quick enough!’” Furthermore, he added, “He was obviously a prince. I was taken aback by it.”
This was much before Harry married his now-wife. However, royal commentators believe that his actress-wife would have berated her husband for his remarks.
A royal source shared: “There is no doubt Harry has matured over the years, but comments like this inevitably look different when viewed through a modern lens. Given the values Meghan has publicly championed, many people would expect her to cringe if she heard that exchange repeated today.”
