Presley Gerber made his final public appearance three months before his death at age 27
The model was joined by his parents, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, at a mental health-focused event in Malibu on June 11
During a panel at the event, Presley reflected on his mental health journey and encouraged others to embrace honesty and vulnerability
Presley Gerber was surrounded by family during what would become his final public appearance.
Three months before his death at age 27, the model stepped out with his parents, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, for the We Are ENOUGH x Aviator Nation launch event at Aviator Nation Dreamland in Malibu, Calif., on June 11.
In photos from the event, Presley smiled as he stood between his parents, with his arm around his dad. Crawford, 60, and Rande, 64, attended the event to support their son as he participated in a candid panel discussion about mental health.
The evening celebrated the launch of the We Are ENOUGH x Aviator Nation bracelet collection, with 100% of proceeds benefiting mental health organizations. The collaboration was created by We Are ENOUGH and TOMS founder Blake Mycoskie and Aviator Nation founder Paige Mycoskie.

During the event, Presley joined Blake, Paige, Lauren Scruggs Kennedy, Caroline Baudino and Chance Hindirlane for a panel moderated by Tyler Ramsey.
Presley, a model and mental health advocate, spoke about his own journey and a personal breakthrough that helped him realize he was “enough.”
He shared that age 23 had marked a turning point for him after years of feeling different while taking various medications. Presley said that after coming off the medications, he began learning to distinguish his internal voices from what he considered his authentic self.
Reflecting on growing up in the public eye, Presley also discussed feeling pressure to present himself a certain way. He said he eventually found a sense of freedom through being vulnerable about what he had experienced.
“The most free I felt was when I was finally honest with myself,” he told the audience.

Presley also offered advice for navigating difficult days, encouraging those in attendance to get outside and incorporate movement into their routines.
“Move your body regardless of how you’re feeling. Get outside. Get some sun,” he said. “If you don’t feel like moving, lay on the grass.”
The appearance would ultimately be Presley’s last before his death on Sunday, Sept. 20.

Presley died at a rehab facility, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner records obtained by PEOPLE. TMZ was first to report the news. An official cause of death has not been determined.
A representative for Crawford, Rande and their daughter, Kaia Gerber, tells PEOPLE, “The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time.”

Presley had been increasingly open about his experiences with mental health and substance use in the years before his death.

During a 2023 appearance on the ‘Studio 22‘ podcast, Presley discussed his battle with depression and said he hoped that sharing what he had learned could help other people facing similar challenges.
“[Mental health] is an issue. It is such a big part of my life. It’s a 24/7 job, and there’s so much to it,” he said at the time. “That’s really what I want to do: help people, whether you’re depressed, you’re struggling with something that is having a negative effect on your body.”
He added that there was “no judgment” and said he hoped others might be able to learn from the mistakes he had made.

Presley later brought those conversations to social media with his “Mental Health Mondays” videos. In a since-deleted Instagram video posted in December 2025, he discussed taking several medications, including buprenorphine, Xanax and Valium, while dealing with panic attacks. He also said he had experienced significant loss and wanted to share his story so that others struggling wouldn’t feel alone.
“I have a feeling that if I say all of this, a lot of people will at least know that there’s someone else going through it,” he said.

Presley’s sister, Kaia, 24, also recently reflected on her brother’s experiences. In an August Vogue cover story, the outlet described Presley as having experienced a “decade-long struggle with drug addiction.”
“When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone,” Kaia said, explaining that she began seeing herself as the “easy one” in the family and became reluctant to ask for help herself.
She also praised her brother’s willingness to publicly share what he was going through.
“My parents for most of our lives were very, very private and didn’t share anything — and now we have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, ‘I’m gonna be very human for everyone,’ ” she said. “There’s only so much you can hide from the world.”
Presley was the eldest child and only son of Crawford and Rande. Like his mother and sister, he pursued modeling, signing with IMG Models as a teenager before walking for brands including Moschino and Dolce & Gabbana and appearing in a Calvin Klein campaign.
He is survived by his parents and sister.
