The Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto witnessed Caitlin Clark’s record-breaking feat Friday night. After helping Team USA win gold at the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup, the Indiana Fever star returned to WNBA action and immediately made her presence felt.
Clark finished with 28 points, 14 assists, and 6 rebounds as Indiana beat the Toronto Tempo 103-85, and the reactions online were immediate.

Clark became the first player in WNBA history to finish a game with a 28-14-6 stat line as the Fever registered its 27th win of the season. The Fever star’s supporters lit up social media, with fans celebrating yet another milestone from Clark’s growing list of records.
One CC supporter summed up the mood simply by writing, “MVP.”
Another went even further, posting, “Caitlin Clark is the Point GOAT. No other player in WNBA history comes close to her elite combination of scoring and passing.”
That playmaking was once again the story. Clark recorded her 16th career game with at least 25 points and 10 assists, a total that is reportedly more than the next five players combined. She also reached 23 career games with at least 20 points and 10 assists, while no other WNBA player has more than 10.
That had another fan declaring, “Every time Caitlin Clark steps on the court… SHE MAKES HISTORY!!!!”
The numbers were even more impressive considering Clark was not exactly lighting it up from deep. She shot 2-of-8 from 3-point range but went 12-of-12 from the free-throw line, finishing 7-of-15 overall from the field.
As one CC fan put it, “Imagine doing all of this when your three ball isn’t falling.”
Another reaction was much shorter but equally appreciative, calling her “Killer Clark.”

And that was basically the theme of her return. Clark was relatively quiet as a scorer during Team USA’s FIBA run, but she came back to the Fever and immediately took over the offensive load when Indiana needed it.
But Clark was not doing it alone. Kelsey Mitchell delivered the other half of Indiana’s backcourt explosion, scoring a game-high 33 points on 12-of-17 shooting and knocking down seven 3-pointers.
Her third-quarter 3-pointer, assisted by Clark, pushed her season total to 1,023 points, moving her past A’ja Wilson’s previous WNBA single-season scoring record of 1,021. Mitchell also extended her league-record streak of 20-point games to 25 straight.
Together, Clark and Mitchell accounted for 61 of Indiana’s 103 points.
That did not stop one CC supporter from taking a shot at the attention Mitchell received, posting, “And all that’s said is the slobbering over Mitchell who did NOTHING but shoot.”
That said, Mitchell’s 33 points were a major reason Indiana pulled away, while Clark controlled the game with her scoring and playmaking.
The Fever trailed 57-55 early in the third quarter before recovering to take a 79-73 lead into the final period. Indiana then closed the game with a 24-12 fourth-quarter performance to secure its third straight victory and eighth win in its last 10 games.

The victory moved the Fever to 27-14, their best regular-season record in the last three seasons. With three games remaining, Clark and Co. have already secured their playoff spot and are now focused on finishing the regular season strong.
