A woman who fell to her death while climbing a volcano on her 42nd birthday made an unsettling social media post beforehand.
Ingrid Daniela Vera Figueroa was climbing Llaima Volcano in Chile with her friends when she fell about 2,000 feet around 3 p.m. local time on May 17, according to Jam Press.
Earlier in the day, the climber shared a social media post in which she expressed her concerns about the trek.

“It's three in the morning, and we're finishing packing our backpacks to ascend Llaima. I hope God accompanies me on this wonderful day, on which I'm turning 42 and am super happy,” she wrote.
“Yes, I have a little uncertainty about what's going to happen,” the mother of two added.
Figueroa was believed to be taking photos when she released her ice pick and lost her balance during the descent. There were strong winds on the day of the climb. She then allegedly slipped and fell down a steep ravine.

Due to the severe weather, a rescue helicopter was unable to reach the site.

The woman's death was confirmed in the evening, but her body was not recovered until the next morning.

Local officials and representatives from the National Forest Corporation (CONAF) retrieved her body.
CONAF director Héctor Tillería said the hiking group did not register with park authorities or local police despite protocol, per Jam Press.
PEOPLE reached out to CONAF on Sunday, May 24, but did not immediately hear back.
The incident is still under investigation.
Figueroa was remembered as a “responsible, kind, committed” mother by her colleagues at Alexander Graham Bell School in Villarrica City.
She is survived by her husband and two children.
Llaima Volcano is located in the Parque Nacional Conguillío and stands more than 10,000 feet tall, according to NASA. It is one of the most active volcanoes in the South American country.
