Joel McHale is celebrating three decades of marriage.
The actor and comedian, 54, and his wife, Sarah Williams McHale, tied the knot in 1996. The longtime couple marked their milestone 30th wedding anniversary with heartfelt posts on Instagram on Monday, July 20.
“And just like that…. 30 YEARS ago today THEEE Sarah Williams made the brash decision to accept my offer of marriage. Thank you baby for agreeing,” Joel wrote alongside a recent selfie of them in Shibuya, Japan, and a throwback black-and-white photo from their wedding day.
He continued, “I love you and I love you and I love you.”
Sarah also shared two photos, a selfie of them at Sylvan Grove Theater and Columns in Seattle, and a black-and-white wedding portrait.
“30 years married @joelmchale!” she wrote. “Taking it back to #sylvangroveuw where my brother insisted you talk to me. What a ride it’s been! Can’t wait for the next 30! Love you, love you, love you. Not sure what’s happening in that wedding photo...👀stare downward at the flowers and look somber? 🩵😍.”
Joel commented, “I love you baby cakes.”

Joel and Sarah said “I do” after three years of dating. They share two sons: Eddie, 21, and Isaac, 18.
During Joel’s appearance on the Jennifer Hudson Show in April, he reflected on how quickly time has passed in his relationship and revealed his secret to a lasting marriage.
“When I say 30 years, I’m like, ‘That’s, like, a person. That’s a person who’s an adult and has a job and is losing their hair,’ “ the Animal Control star joked. “So we look at each other, and I’m like, ‘Where did the time go? And why are you still with me?’ ”
He added, “We went on our first date in 1993!”

Joel said that “the perfect way to stay married for a long time” is solo getaways.
“I’m not kidding, my wife goes on vacation without us,” he shared. “She absolutely does, ‘cause she’s like, ‘I need a real break.’ And so, she’ll book a trip with a couple of her friends and go away for like 10 days.”
