FOX leaves NFL viewers furious after what happened in Packers-Jets game

FOX has broadcast NFL games for more than 32 years, yet the network encountered multiple audio problems during a busy early slate in Week 2.
Viewers on social media reported that Sunday's Green Bay Packers-New York Jets matchup at MetLife Stadium experienced persistent audio issues. FOX mistakenly aired audio from the Minnesota Vikings-Chicago Bears game over the Packers-Jets local broadcast. This follows FOX NFL Sunday personality Terry Bradshaw's recent outburst at a colleague.
FOX's Packers-Jets broadcasting team consisted of play-by-play announcer Kenny Albert and analyst Jonathan Vilma. Vikings-Bears featured FOX's second-string booth with Joe Davis and Greg Olsen. Viewers voiced their frustrations on X.

"FOX, I don't want to hear the Vikings and Bears. I want to hear the Packers and Jets even if we're playing like c---," one Packers supporter posted.
"FOX, your audio of the Jets game is giving us Joe Davis, not Kenny Albert! This is embarrassing stuff for a broadcaster," another observed.

"FOX keeps giving the Jets and Packers fans the play-by-play of the Vikings game during the Jets-Packers game; it's so weird. How can they mess up this bad?" a separate viewer tweeted.

"FOX gotta figure out the audio here because I feel like I'm having a stroke," KFC Barstool posted.
This wasn't the sole problem viewers experienced with FOX on Sunday. During the 4 p.m. slot, the network briefly switched from the Seattle Seahawks-Arizona Cardinals broadcast to the Washington Commanders-Dallas Cowboys broadcast.
Furthermore, the scorebug malfunctioned during overtime of the Packers-Jets game, prompting FOX to display the score with an alternative on-screen graphic every few plays.
An additional complication arose when the late Packers-Jets game left some FOX viewers in the Washington and Dallas areas, who had been hoping to catch their respective teams in action, stuck watching the earlier window instead.
"FOX is about to p--- me off," one fan tweeted. "I paid for NFL Sunday Ticket to display all the games, and here we are again with another OT game disrupting the beginning of the Commanders vs. Cowboys game."
It should be noted that this is not a FOX/NFL Sunday Ticket issue - the networks adhere to strict regulations governing which games can be broadcast and in which markets.
The Jets squandered a late 17-7 lead over the visiting Packers despite receiving strong performances from quarterback Geno Smith and rookie linebacker David Bailey. Packers kicker Trey Smack ultimately sealed the victory with a game-winning field goal in overtime.
