President Donald Trump's latest Melania "obsession" makes the president look like a "madman", a prominent author has claimed. Trump's second term in office has been filled with apparent obsessions distracting the president from his day job.
One of them is the infamous White House Ballroom. Trump is apparently keen to shoehorn talk of the Ballroom into any conversation as it is supposedly his favourite topic to chat about.
Now there is another issue which is apparently preoccupying the president. Trump has blocked renovations to the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, apparently because the courts blocked his bid to add the Trump name to the landmark. It comes after Melania's "real reason" for her recent public appearance was revealed - and it wasn't to help her husband.

Commentators at the Daily Beast, long-time critics of the president, asked if there is something "particularly triggering" about his legendary predecessor John F.Kennedy, who the building is named after.
Michael Wolff, who has written a number of books on Trump, including the explosive Fire and Fury, suggested that it is "very important" to him. The author has even dragged Melania into his "obsession".

He told the Daily Beast's podcast: "He's obsessed with talking about Melania in the same breath as Jackie Kennedy. I think there is something there.

"The Kennedy thing, very important to Trump, very, you know, you know, very you know, he spends a lot of time talking about Kennedy, the women that Kennedy had in the white House and talking about that.
"And of course, in a very positive way. Oh, yeah. And that he got away with that and wasn't that incredible?"
Michael suggested to co-host Joanna Coles that there was a period during his campaign where Trump was "serious" about having RFK Jr as his vice-president. The conspiracy theorist and vaccine skeptic is the nephew of John F.Kennedy and son of Robert F.Kennedy, both of whom were assassinated.

The writer went even further and claimed his "obsession" with the Kennedys amounts to "madman stuff".
He said: "He is willing to focus on, obsess about that to his own very clear disadvantage. It's departed reality. It's a madman stuff."
Continuing to explain why he thinks Trump is so annoyed over the Kennedy Center, Michael added: "It's just him being told he can't have what he wants, therefore he wants it more.
"I think, they (his advisors) understand that is one of those things that you do not touch. You just let him because he's crazy. He's mad. You just gotta let him. Let him have that."
The Kennedy Center opened in 1971. Earlier this year, Trump announced it would close for two years for a two-year renovation. Earlier this week there were protests, supporting the performing arts institution.
